Objectifs

Le Master 2 Behavioral Economics associe les sciences économiques aux sciences comportementales et cognitives à l'analyse de données. La recherche scientifique à l'intersection de l'économie et de la psychologie est actuellement en pleine expansion. Elle a également trouvé de nombreuses applications au sein des organismes publics et privés. Ce parcours répond pleinement aux nouveaux besoins de formation créés par cette "révolution comportementale" en cours. Son objectif est d'offrir aux étudiants une compréhension profonde des comportements économiques, qu'ils soient individuels ou collectifs, ainsi qu'une forte capacité à mobiliser l'analyse quantitative à travers différentes sources de données, qu'il s'agisse de big data ou de données issues d'expériences économiques.

The curriculum of Master 2 Behavioral Economics lies at the intersection of economics, behavioral and cognitive sciences, and data analysis. It taps into a quickly expanding area of cross-disciplinary scientific research which, in turn, found fruitful applications in public and private organizations. As such, it comes across new  needs for academic training created by this ongoing "behavioral revolution". Its objective is to provide students with a deep understanding of economic behavior, whether individual or collective, as well as a strong ability to employ quantitative analysis to different sources of empirical data, such as big data and data gathered from economic experiments.

Programme de la formation

Les cours sont organisés autour de 5 unités d'enseignement (UE), dont 3 obligatoires. Ces 3 UE regroupent les cours fondamentaux : "Tools" (Experimental methods, Software programming for economic experiments), "Interactions and markets" (Behavioral public economics, Behavioral finance, Behavioral mechanism design, Behavioral game theory), "Individual decision-making" (Neuroeconomics, Psychology of Risk, Risk and uncertainty). Puis, 1 UE doit être également choisi parmi 2 : soit "Applied economic analysis" (Evaluation of public policies, Econometrics, Topics in applied economics), soit "Data analysis" (Machine learning, Datamining, Big data/SAS). Tous les cours sont dispensés en anglais.

 
The curriculum contains 5 blocks of cours, 3 of which are mandatory. These 3 fundamental blocks are as follows: "Tools" (Experimental methods, Software programming for economic experiments), "Interactions and markets" (Behavioral public economics, Behavioral finance, Behavioral mechanism design, Behavioral game theory), "Individual decision-making" (Neuroeconomics, Psychology of Risk, Risk and uncertainty). Furthermore, 1 block should be chosen among: either "Applied economic analysis" (Evaluation of public policies, Econometrics, Topics in applied economics), or "Data analysis" (Machine learning, Datamining, Big data/SAS). All courses are delivered in English.

Précédée par une préparation solide en termes des techniques quantitatives en économie au cours du Master 1 APE (ainsi que d'autres programmes d'économie quantitative proposés en France et à l'étranger), cette formation vise à attirer les étudiants qui souhaitent être à la pointe des recherches dans les domaines de l'économie et des sciences comportementales, ainsi que de leurs applications dans le monde académique (en commençant par une thèse de doctorat) et professionnel (par exemple, dans le consulting, ou encore dans une des "behavioral research teams" au sein des institutions publics ainsi que dans le secteur privé).

 
The program should be preceded by a solid training in quantitative economics during the Master 1 APE (as well as other quantitative economics programs offered in France and abroad). It aims to attract students who wish to be at the cutting edge of research in the fields of economics and behavioral sciences, as well as their applications in the academic world (starting with a doctoral thesis) and professional (for example, in consulting, or in one of the " behavioral research teams" within public institutions as well as in the private sector).
